And if you are looking to enjoy the majestic Sequoia National Park, the city operates Sequoia Shuttle from Memorial Day Weekend through early September. Initiated by the City of Visalia in 1981, the Visalia Transit (VT) public transit system provides fixed-route and demand-response transit services within the Visalia Urbanized Area.An estimated population of 133,151 resides within Visalia Transit's 40 square mile service area. Visalia Towne Trolley was introduced in November, 1998 to provide trolley bus service in the downtown Visalia area.
The City finances Visalia Transit through a combination of fare revenues, Tulare County's Measure R, Transportation Development Act (sales tax), and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5307 funds, among other state, federal, and local grants/revenues.

Visalia Transit operates 13 bus routes that serve Visalia, Farmersville, Exeter, Goshen, and Tulare. Visalia Transit connects with Tulare InterModal Express, Tulare County Area Transit, Kings Area Regional Transit, Greyhound, Orange Belt, and Amtrak.
The fixed route service provides convenient transportation to local schools: Divisadero, Valley Oak, Green Acres, La Joya, Golden West, Mt. Whitney, Redwood, Sequoia, El Diamante, College of the Sequoias, San Joaquin Valley College, Fresno Pacific, Visalia Adult School, and Brandman University.
