About 15 slots remain, and the cost of the training is $25. The six-hour class provides an in-depth look at the hoarding disorder.
Chalmer's presentation covers everything from the psychology behind the disorder to the dangers code enforcement and first responders can face when entering a hoarder's home. Some may recognize Chalmers from A&E's hit series "Hoarders." His company started the series after the production company rode along and filmed them cleaning several hoarded homes. He is now a regular featured expert on the show and helps cleanup the most difficult hoarding cases across the country.
He founded Steri-Clean, Inc. "Hoarder Helpers" in 1995 while working as a paramedic and seeing a huge need to help people. In 1997, Cory was hired as a firefighter in Orange County where he still presently works as a full time fire Captain. He has 14 years of experience as a paramedic, 14 years with hazardous materials and emergency management, as well as 16 years of Hoarding/Biohazard response and remediation.
