Four Way Stop Coming to Ferguson and Roeben

5.31.24

Signs alerting drivers to upcoming traffic changes have been installed around the intersection of Ferguson Avenue and Roeben Street.

The intersection is being changed from a two-way to four-way stop.

“It was determined through traffic studies that turning this from a two-way stop to a four-way stop can improve safety and address the increased traffic volume at the intersection,” shared Danny Galindo, Public Works Manager. “This traffic control will address motorists who have previously failed to yield to cross-traffic that was not required to stop.”

Once stop signs are installed, eastbound and westbound traffic on Ferguson Avenue will come to a complete stop. The stop signs on North Roeben Street will remain, creating a four-way stop.

Electronic signboards are currently installed near the intersection to alert drivers of the upcoming change. Crews are working now on striping and will install signage that goes into immediate effect on Wednesday, June 5.

“We ask that travelers exercise extra caution once the change has been implemented, as it is a change to the traffic pattern for those who drive, walk or bike through the area,” Galindo.
