Shoot, My Basketball Hoop!

City of Visalia's Municipal Code

We know it can be a hassel or heavy to move your hoop when you're done playing, but basketball hoops in the street can prevent access for City service such as solid waste collections, street sweeping, and emergency services.

This is not just a safety concern but it's also against the City of Visalia Municipal Code to leave your basketball hoop unattended in the street or on the sidewalk when you're done playing. Americans With Disability Act laws also requires that sidewalks be kept clear for pedestrain use.

Those who do not remove basketball hoops from the public right of way (sidewalks and streets) will be issued a code compliance violation. Fines for violating this City of Visalia Municipal Code are susceptible to a fine up to $500.00.

You can still have fun this summer but don't commit the ultimate foul by leaving your basketball hoop out!

*City of Visalia is not responsible for damage to personal equipment that is placed illegally in the public right of way.

MUNICIPAL CODE ADDRESSING THIS INFRACTION:
