Deadline Extended for Feedback on Safe Routes To School

3.15.24

Can you help Visalia be a city where active transportation, specifically bicycling and walking, is fully integrated into daily life?

The City of Visalia has extended our Active Transportation Program survey so residents can give their feedback on safe routes to school and improved community connectivity.

“Every two years, the City can submit applications to the Active Transportation Program (ATP) with the State of California, for projects that would be beneficial to Visalia,” provides Diego Corvera, Civil Engineer. “We’ve had the opportunity to connect with Visalians from throughout our community and are getting great responses."

“As much feedback as we can obtain really helps our grant application, so we’re extending our survey deadline to provide everyone a little bit more time to share their comments," added Corvera.

Feedback and input received is integral to the process, as to be awarded grant funding, the City of Visalia must submit a robust and lengthy application that defines the project’s scope, clearly articulates how the project meets the community needs, and demonstrates that projects are consistent with program goals.
