Transit Hits Nearly 1.5 Million Student Riders
The College of the Sequoia's (COS) Student Transit Pass Program first launched in 2011 and the latest numbers show that a total of 2,257,713 riders have taken part in the program.
"COS students in Tulare County utilized transit services over 2 million times since the Transit Pass Program was first implemented," shared Angelina Soper, City of Visalia Transit Manager. "Of that number, 100,000 students rode the system to get to and from class during the last spring semester. Almost 80,000 of those rides were provided by Visalia Transit."

Since the programs inception in 2011, Fall semesters rank as the biggest season for riders, with spring semesters trailing behind only slightly.
"Through Fall 2018, we had almost 1.5 million riders total utilize Visalia Transit through the COS Student Transit Pass Program," added Soper. "Many of our future leaders depend on Visalia Transit to get to and from their classes."
