Are you interested in learning more about the Visalia Police Department? Your Visalia Police Department is now accepting applications for this year’s Citizens Police Academy.
The Citizens Police Academy is a ten week course designed to acquaint the public with the inner workings of the Visalia Police Department.
Upon successful completion of the Citizens Police Academy and background investigation, participants will have the option to be sworn in as a Volunteer in Police Services (VIPS).
VIPS are provided the opportunity to assist in essential non-hazardous duties including field operations, administrative functions, community events, traffic control, and DUI checkpoints throughout the year.
An informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019, at 6:00 P.M., at the City Council Chambers located at 707 W. Acequia.
Applications are available through March 18th, 2019 online.
