Opening of Wittman Village Community Center Rescheduled
As the new tenants of the Wittman Village Community Center, ProYouth has been working with the City of Visalia on facility improvements. With an unforeseen delay in interior construction, the grand opening celebration has been pushed out to early June 2018.
“We’re excited to bring ProYouth’s commitment to providing safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments to the Wittman Village Community Center,” shared Daryn Davis, ProYouth CEO. “Rehabilitation of the Center is still underway, so our previously set grand opening day has been pushed out to early summer.”
Owned by the City of Visalia, ProYouth was chosen through a Request for Proposal process to provide youth services at the Center. The Visalia Police Activities League (P.A.L.) will also operate at the Center in partnership with ProYouth.
Working closely with ProYouth, the City has been attending to needed improvements before the move-in.
“We had an ambitious goal to turn over keys to ProYouth by March 23rd, but with hiccups in the schedule, we have not been able to meet our deadline,” said Randy Groom, Visalia City Manager. “ProYouth has been a gracious and understanding partner through this process. I know we’re all looking forward having them here at the Center.”
The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of ProYouth at the Wittman Village Community Center will take place in early June. The public is welcome to attend, learn about ProYouth programs and take tours of the facility.
