Fire Damages Storage Shed in North Visalia
On Monday morning at 1:27 a.m., October 30, 2017 the Visalia Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire located at 1702 N. Bridge Street.
Upon arrival of the first unit, heavy fire was observed coming from a building located down a long driveway off of Bridge Street. Once the fire crew was closer, they determined that it was a storage shed next to the primary residence that was on fire.
Thanks to the quick actions of the Visalia Police Department, the occupants of the residence had been awoken by officers, alerted and had vacated the property.
The Fire Department quickly knocked down the fire and crews then began to overhaul all of the various materials that were still smoldering.
Fire crews discovered evidence that the fire could have been started by transient activity on the other side of the property line. According to the residents of the house, there were transients occupying the area on the other side of their fence line prior to this fire. An exact cause of the fire is undetermined.
The fire caused approximately $500 damage to the contents of the storage shed.
