Downtown Parking Structure Gets Makeover
Access to the downtown parking structure on 222 W. Acequia will change starting Saturday, August 19th as crews work on entrances and exits.
The City of Visalia, in coordination with Kaweah Delta Health Care District and Downtown Visalians, will change the entrance and exit locations for the parking structure to alleviate traffic congestion.
Due to the parking structure’s proximity to the traffic signal at Locust Street and Acequia Avenue, congestion has become a concern. The entrance and exit changes will create a one-way traffic flow on the ground floor, making a more efficient and less congested route to the higher levels of the parking structure.
Visitors to the structure will notice crews on-site, but parking will be open and accessible as work takes place.
Along with the changes comes a change in parking restrictions as well. The second floor of the structure will now be designated as All Day Parking and Permit Only.
