Two Homes Under Construction Burn
This morning, Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 2:35 a.m. the Visalia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire located at 4017 E. Cypress.
First arriving units found two residential structures that were under construction involved in heavy fire. Due to the amount of fire and structural integrity risk, fire crews were forced to attack the fires from the exterior.
Fire Crews made an aggressive exterior fire attack on the two of the structures while protecting a third under-construction structure that was an exposure due to heavy heat and flames and the fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes.
The two structures sustained major fire damage and the third structure sustained minor heat damage to a portion of the fascia, stucco and windows.
With the Fire Department on scene, Southern California Edison, the Gas Company, Cal Water and Visalia Police Department also responded to the incident.
Total fire damage to the two structures that burned is estimated to be over $500,000.00. Savings to the third structure that was saved is estimated to be $260,000.00.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Visalia Fire Department Arson Investigators.
