Visalia Fire Department Respond to Structure Fire
On Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 12:07 p.m., the Visalia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 711 E. Roosevelt.
Upon the arrival of the first fire unit, they found heavy smoke visible from the structure. Fire units were not sure if anyone was home, so crews performed a search of the residence and began fire attack with the fire contained in approximately 10 minutes.
The occupants of the residence were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries, however, the fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.
The fire originated in the hot water heater closet and then spread into the attic, the exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
