Join us for 2016 Arbor Day Celebration!

It's the 34th Annual Arbor Day Celebration!

Arbor Day is a nationally celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. Founded by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska in 1872, National Arbor Day is celebrated each year on the last Friday in April.

The Visalia Parks & Urban Forestry Division chooses a Saturday at the end of April to celebrate in our area. Many states celebrate at times to coincide with the best tree planting weather for their area.

The Visalia Parks and Recreation Department will have projects taking place throughout the City and is seeking volunteers to sign-up and celebrate the day!

If you would like to participate in this tree planting event, contact Melissa Tracy at (559) 713-4384 or by email at
