Groundbreaking Scheduled for Visalia Emergency Communication Center

The City of Visalia welcomes the public to attend the Visalia Emergency Communications Center Groundbreaking Ceremony taking place Tuesday, February 2nd at 1:30 p.m.

Located near School Avenue and Burke Street, the Visalia Emergency Communication Center (VECC) will be the permanent home for the Emergency Communication Center (911 Dispatch), the Emergency Operation Center, Traffic Management Center, Fire Administration and the City’s secure Data Center for Information Services.

The VECC will be an 18,790 square-foot facility; construction is scheduled to take 14 months, with completion slated for March of 2017.

To be held rain or shine, the groundbreaking ceremony will include welcome remarks and introductions from Mayor Steve Nelsen, addresses from City Manager Mike Olmos, Chief of Police Jason Salazar and Fire Chief Doug McBee.
