The City of Visalia Police Department received special recognition at the November 16th City Council meeting. The California Highway Patrol presented Chief Jason Salazar with an award for the Department’s 2nd place finish in the 2014 California Law Enforcement Challenge (CLEC).
This prestigious statewide award is given to those agencies whose traffic safety programs focus on efforts in occupant protection, impaired driving, and speed awareness. This is the eighth straight year the Visalia Police Department has finished in the top three for this award. The department remains committed to the ongoing challenge of keeping our roadways safe through enforcement, education, and engineering.
