Mattress Recycling

Bye Bye Mattress is a Program of the Mattress Recycling Council.  Mattress Recycling Council (MRC) is a nonprofit organization created by the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) to develop and implement statewide mattress recycling programs for stated that have enacted mattress recycling laws.  The Bye Bye Mattress program converts old products from waste to recycling.  As a result, our local landfill is less crowded as old mattresses are recycled into new, useful products.

Residents of Tulare County can drop off old mattresses and box springs at no-cost at the City of Visalia Corporation Yard (335 N. Cain St.), during regularly scheduled Household Hazardous Waste (H.H.W.) facility operations.  The HHW facility is open to the public Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00noon.  Staff at H.H.W. facility will direct participants to the mattress drop off site.

In addition to the City of Visalia Corporation Yard the County of Tulare also accepts mattresses and box springs at no-cost at the Visalia landfill (8614 Avenue 328 - Visalia, CA. 93291. Click the link provided for a complete list of Local Drop-Off Sites.
