Live Scan forms can be obtained from the requesting agency or by contacting the California Department of Justice at (916) 322-2209. The Visalia Police Department does not provide Live Scan forms or fingerprint cards.

At Your Live Scan Appointment:

The Live Scan Operator will enter your information from the submission form & capture the fingerprint images. The captured information is immediately transmitted to the Department of Justice over a data line.

The Live Scan Operator does not process the applications. The fingerprints are forwarded to the Department of Justice. If the applicant has not heard from their agency within 30 days, they should have their agency file an inquiry with the Department of Justice. The Visalia Police Department does not have access to live scan records. Only the applicant or applicant's employer may contact DOJ.

If you are returning to be re-printed due to a DOJ or FBI rejection, you must bring a new form & a copy of the rejection notice with you. If you do not have a copy of the rejection notice with you, you will be re-charged the applicable fees. With the copy of the rejection notice, no additional fees will be charged.
