WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE FOUND A DOG:

Check for any form of identification- collar, tag, name or phone number embroidered on the collar

Knock on Doors

Post the animals on the Lost and Found Pets social medias

  • Next door app

Facebook (Lost and Found Visalia, Lost and Found Pets (Tulare-Visalia), 559 Volunteer Animal Control)

Email a Found Report to Visalia Animal Services

  • If the dog is dangerous or injured call Animal Control at 559-713-4957. An officer may come get it, but if you are able to take a sick or injured pet to the vet yourself, that is even better. Be sure to create the found report regardless and send us photos.

Take the pet to your nearest vet clinic to check for a microchip. Be sure to call ahead.

Can you foster the dog? Visalia Animal Services would appreciate that!

  • Our animal shelter should be the last place to take a found animal as our shelter is designed to be a safety net for sick or injured stray animals that have no other option.
