Speakers Bureau

What’s Happening in the City of Visalia? Want to get involved or just be more informed? The City of Visalia Speakers Bureau wants to tell you and your organization our story.

City representatives are available to speak to your local organization on a wide range of topics. Direct communication with our citizens allows us to better serve our community.

Our speakers are experts in their fields and are eager to share their knowledge in the community. They are an excellent resource with many stories to share and are capable of providing answers to important questions about the Visalia community on a variety of topics.

The Speakers Bureau will provide a public speaker for a meeting or an event with topics of interest to local clubs, schools, civic groups, neighborhood associations, faith-based and community organizations. Presentations include a wide array of topics, including:

  • Overview of public safety, narcotics K-9s, and homeless issue;
  • Water conservation education, multi-family recycling, and green and residential food waste composting;
  • Transit 101, with an overview of all transit programs;
  • Overview of City Government, including snapshots of the City's fiscal picture, capital projects citywide, and future challenges;
  • Efforts to prepare for significant storms by increasing maintenance;
  • Overview of Fire Department, fire prevention tips, emergency management;
  • Airport management;
  • Animal Care, including licensing, dealing with barking dogs, and nuisance issues;
  • SMART Team updates on efforts to target specific problem areas negatively impacting neighborhoods, and;
  • Capital Improvement Project Updates.
