What Are Your Priorities for Visalia?

The City of Visalia has been conducting a communitywide conversation to obtain feedback about services and programs important to the community and how to maintain and protect those essential city services.

“The State of California has shifted responsibility for many programs back to local cities without the funds necessary to provide the services,” states Mike Olmos, Visalia City Manager. “Over the last five years, the state has taken more than $40 million from our City. Although the economy has been difficult for all of us, it’s important that we identify potential local funding sources that are protected and locally controlled.”

The community discussion continues with three upcoming public meetings in which City staff members will provide a brief presentation and conduct a question and answer period. Join us on Thursday, June 16th at 6:30 p.m. at Visalia PD District 1, on Tuesday, June 21st at 5:30 p.m. at Visalia PD District 2 or on Saturday, June 25th at 8 a.m. at Visalia Fire Station 53. Refreshments will be provided and citizens of all ages are welcome to attend.

Can’t make it in-person? Each of the meetings will steam live on Facebook at the City’s official Facebook page. Questions will be taken from the live-stream audience and addressed in real time.

The conversation continues online at www.visalia.city\youressentialservices. We want to know what YOUR priorities for Visalia are. Join the conservation on maintaining essential services by taking the community survey online at www.visalia.city/youressentialservices.
