Time change means more time for bicycle rides and tips to keep you safe

#1 – Ride on the right, in the same direction as cars.

#2 – Always stop at stop lights, stop signs and obey traffic laws.

#3 – Look back and signal before turning.

#4 – If you ride at night you need a white front light and red rear light.

#5 – Wear a helmet and be sure it fits level & snug.

In 2013, the Visalia police department recorded 53 bicycle related accidents.  The primary causes of accidents were people riding their bikes on the wrong side of the road and secondly, bicyclist not stopping at stops lights or stop signs.  So follow these tips to be safe and I look forward to seeing our community use daylight savings time as an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the ride!
