Traffic Switch for Houston Avenue Widening Project In Effect Nov. 9

The following traffic switch is scheduled for this weekend:

Eastbound State Route 216 (Houston Avenue) traffic will be diverted to the newly constructed south portion of Houston Avenue on Saturday, November 9th, pending weather and completion of paving operations. Temporary pavement delineation (markers) will be placed during the traffic switch to designate lanes.  Traffic will continue with one lane in each direction.

The project is scheduled to go into winter suspension after the traffic switch due to unsuitable weather conditions for construction activities.  There will be minor construction activities taking place during this interim that are not weather dependent.  Major construction activities will resume in spring/summer of 2014 when weather conditions become more favorable.  Please be aware that no parking will be allowed on Houston Avenue.  Signs will be posted to enforce this policy.

Caltrans would like to thank the residents and commuters for their patience during this improvement project.  The public is asked to drive with extra care while traveling through the construction area and please Slow of the Cone Zone.
