“Our citizens have helped shape Visalia’s ATP and we’re excited to once again have the opportunity to obtain funding from the California Transportation Commission that would allow us to provide further improvements right here in our city,” shared Dolores Verduzco, Financial Analyst, City of Visalia Community Development.
The City of Visalia Active Transportation Plan (ATP) encourages the increased use of our bike and pedestrian trails, safe routes to school, improved traffic control devices and more. Shaped by public input, past projects have included the Mill Creek Trail between Tipton and Burke, the Green Acres Middle School Crosswalk across Mooney Blvd and the Greenway Belt Trail Connection between Mill Creek and State Route 198.
Citizens are invited to attend the ATP Cycle 4 Public Workshop as City staff will be on hand to discuss the ATP in detail, its impact on the community and answer questions. For those that can’t attend in-person, the meeting will be streamed via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/cityofvisalia and questions will be taken from viewers.
