Crews Respond to Structure Fire
On Wednesday Evening, March 7, 2018, at approximately 7:04 p.m., the Visalia Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke in a residence on W. Orchard.
"First arriving fire units found moderate smoke inside the structure," stated Brian Adney, Visalia Fire Department Battalion Chief. "Crews determined discovered a fire to in the back bedroom of the home and firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and were able to get the fire under control in approximately seven minutes."
All occupants were out of the home when firefighters arrived.
"The fire was contained to the bedroom area; however, there was moderate smoke damage throughout the residence," added Adney.
Southern California Edison and the Gas Company also responded to the scene. The fire caused approximately $12,000.00 damage to the structure and contents. The occupants of the home were displaced and will be staying with relatives.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
