Final Days to Apply
Individuals interested in a career in law-enforcement have just a few more days to submit their application for the position of Police Officer Recruit.
In fact, the recruitment will close after the first 500 applications are received or on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 5 p.m.
Application and supplemental materials will be evaluated and applicants who appear to be most qualified will be invited to participate in a job-related interview and/or examination process.
Written exam tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Successful candidates will be required to pass a background investigation, polygraph, psychological examination and physical examination.
Applicants hired will be sponsored by the Visalia Police Department and must attend, and successfully complete, the College of the Sequoias (COS) 143 Intensive Basic Police Academy scheduled to begin in August 2018.
The Acadeny is a six-month course that meets Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the COS Hanford Center. Some evening and weekend class meetings are scheduled in addition to this daily class time.
