Senior Games Coming in March

Winning never gets old. For participants headed to the 2018 Visalia Senior Games, they exemplify this better than just about anyone.

"I can't believe we're already old pros at this; ready to host our Third Annual Visalia Senior Games!" shared Mayor Warren Gubler. "Although we are still learning, the word is spreading about how great our games are, being the earliest senior games held in California during 2018."

With athletes expected from throughout California and the western United States, Visalia Parks & Recreation's Visalia Senior Games has quickly grown as one of the premiere 50 and better events.

The 2018 Visalia Senior Games will be held Saturday, March 10th & Sunday, March 11th and on Saturday, March 17th & Saturday, March 18th.

Visalia Senior Games is the first Senior Games in the Central Valley, and was created under the umbrella of the California Senior Games Association to promote healthy, active lifestyles for adults ages 50 and better. All ages and fitness levels are welcome, it's a great time for participants and guests alike.

"Now that we have some experience under our belts, we are continuing to refine our athletic events and look forward to some great competition," added Mayor Gubler. "I was particularly impressed last year that we had three seniors in their 90's who competed!"

Events include archery, track and field, golf, 3200 M run, volleyball, swimming and many, many more. With something for everyone, participants are encouraged to bring their family and friends along for the fun, as the event includes the Plaza Park Mixer on March 10th.
