PD Warn of "Crimes of Opportunity"

The Visalia Police Department is looking for help from the community as they seek to identify a person captured on home surveillance.

With the full video on the Visalia Police Department Facebook page, an individual is captured on a home surveillance camera in the area of Akers and Goshen attempting to open the doors of vehicles parked on the street, as well as those parked in driveways.

The suspect was captured on video on January 17th, 2018 at 5:10 a.m. and was wearing a hoodie style sweatshirt, and black shoes with white soles; the suspect may wear eyeglasses.

The Visalia Police Department reminds citizens
to securely lock vehicles and, if possible, park them in a closed garage. All items in a vehicle should be removed every time you arrive at your destination, which discourages crimes of opportunity.

To report suspicious activity, call the City of Visalia non-emergency number at 734-8116 followed by “0” for the operator.

For emergencies and crimes in progress, please dial 911.
