Donations Needed for Local Seniors & Youth!
The holiday season is a great time to remind us to be thankful for all of the blessings we have in our life and to reflect on how we can give back and help those in our community.
Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and all of the extra sales thrown in the mix, why not consider adding a few extra goodies here and there?
You’ll no doubt make Santa’s nice list if you decide to make the season extra merry by giving back this year to local seniors and youth by donating some items for both the Visalia Senior Center's Old Fashioned Christmas Luncheon and the Manuel F. Hernandez Community Center (MHCC) holiday party. Both the senior center and MHCC will accept donations of new, unwrapped, non-perishable gift items. Some great gift ideas for seniors are: scarves; throws; socks and slippers; puzzles; craft kits; bus passes; pre-paid fuel, gift or grocery store cards. For the younger generation, great gift ideas include toys and games for both boys and girls from ages 6 to 17 years.
Donations can be dropped off at the Visalia Senior Center and the Manuel F. Hernandez Community Center or at the Anthony Community Center (345 N. Jacob St.). For more information, please contact the Visalia Parks and Recreation Department at (559) 713-4365 or email email@example.com.
