Chief Salazar Announces Lieutenant Promotion
Chief Jason Salazar has announced the promotion of Sergeant James Andrews to the position of Police Lieutenant.
James began his employment with the Visalia Police Department in 2000. Prior to his employment with the Visalia Police Department, James was employed by the Exeter Police Department.
During his employment with the Visalia Police Department, James has been assigned to the Patrol Division, K9 Unit, and Traffic Unit. He was also a member of S.W.A.T.
In 2007, James was promoted to the position of Agent. As an Agent, he was assigned to the Patrol Division and the Traffic Bureau.
In 2009, James was promoted to the position of Sergeant. As a Sergeant, James oversaw the K9 Unit and, most recently, the Traffic Bureau.
James has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute & University and is currently attending Arizona State University where he is working on a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration. James is also a graduate of the Sherman Block Leadership Institute.
James resides in the City of Visalia with his wife Tanya, and their four children.
James’ promotion is effective Saturday, September 2, 2017.
