First Public Hearing on Measure N Set for Monday, 3/20
The Visalia City Council will conduct the first of two public hearings to receive comment on the proposed first-year Measure N spending plan during the City Council meeting on Monday, March 20th at 7 p.m.
Visalia’s Measure N, the ½ cent sales tax that begins April 1, 2017, was passed by voters last November by more than 65% of the vote and supports Police, Fire, Roads and Parks and Recreation.
Part of the accountability measures, this is the first of the two public hearings conducted before adopting a spending plan. During the March 20th public hearing, Council will receive a report on Measure N and take comments from the public.
The second public hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 3rd during the regular session of the City Council meeting at 7 p.m. It is at this meeting Council may adopt the Measure N first year spending plan.
Visalia City Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall West, 707 West Acequia Avenue. Work session begins at 4 p.m., regular session begins at 7 p.m. and both are open to the public.
