Spring Drop Going on Now

City of Visalia residents are invited to recycle trimmings, grass clippings, leaves, branches, wood, lumber and food scraps by participating in our Annual Spring Drop Off Recycling event.

The Spring Drop Off is happening now and citizens have until Saturday, April 28th to make their drop.

You can drop off your personal yard waste and compostables at either of these composters:

Harvest Power California
24487 Road 140 (Lovers Lane)
M-F 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The Spring Drop Off event offers City of Visalia residents a FREE way to rid your property of yard waste and other compostables. You must provide proof of residency, a utility bill or drivers license is acceptable.

This list of materials are accepted as compostable waste:
  • Branches
  • Bread, noodles and rice
  • Coffee grounds and paper coffee filters
  • Egg shells
  • Grass clippings and leaves
  • Prunings
  • Tea leaves and paper tea bags
  • Yard trimmings
  • Wood pallets and wood scraps

Non-compostable items are:
  • Bamboo (garbage)
  • Clean paper (recycling)
  • Palm fronds (garbage)
  • Yucca trees (garbage)
  • Proteins (meat, seafood)
