Applications are being accepted through Tuesday, April 26th for three positions on the Visalia Planning Commission.
There are three Planning Commission terms ending on June 30, 2016. The Commissioners whose terms are expiring are Elizabeth Wynn, Bret Taylor, and Larry Segrue. Larry Segrue will be officially “termed out” per the Council’s policies of having served more than eight years. Elizabeth Wynn and Brett Taylor are eligible for reappointment for an additional two-year term. Currently, Elizabeth Wynn is serving her first term and Bret Taylor is serving his second term.
The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council concerning land use, building, subdivisions, administers the Zoning Ordinance and handles matters that affect the growth and development of Visalia. The Commission meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Additional work sessions and meetings may be scheduled to address specific matters. This position requires the applicant to be a United States Citizen and the filing of a Fair Political Practices Commission Conflict of Interest Form (Form 700).
Recruitment for the positions will continue until Tuesday, April 26th at 5 p.m. after which time the application period will be closed. The interview process will be determined by the number of applications received.
