As part of the construction of the Downtown Stormwater Flood Protection Project, a road closure is scheduled for Burke Street from Douglas Avenue to Center Avenue. The closure will begin tomorrow, Thursday, March 3rd and end on Thursday, March 31st, 2016.
The businesses on Burke Street and Race Avenue will remain open during the closure. Customers and employees will continue to have access to the roadway during the closure on
Burke Street, however, Race Avenue will be closed to thru traffic. The businesses on Murray Avenue and Goshen Avenue will remain open during the closure.
Northbound traffic on Burke Street will be detoured east/west on Center Avenue. Westbound traffic on Douglas Avenue will detour to Santa Fe Street onto Center Avenue. Eastbound traffic on Douglas Avenue will be detoured to Ben Maddox Way onto Center Avenue, then detour west to Burke Street. Southbound traffic on Burke Street will be detoured east/west on Douglas Avenue then detour east on Center Avenue onto Burke Street.
Westbound traffic on Goshen Avenue will detour north/south on Ben Maddox Way to Douglas Avenue and Center Avenue. Eastbound traffic on Murray Avenue to Burke Street will detour north/south on Tipton Street. Northbound traffic will detour west on Race Avenue, north on Santa Fe Street and then east on Douglas Avenue onto Ben Maddox Way. Southbound traffic will detour on Tipton Street and east on Center Avenue.
