What are the benefits of using the Cape Seal process?

  • A Cape Seal provides an opportunity to maintain the roads at a very low cost.
  • Doe to the lower cost, more streets can be improved with a Cape Seal.
  • It provides an additional cost savings by extending the time between more expensive treatments.
  • Tax payers benefit from roads being maintained sooner than if they had to wait for more expensive treatments.
  • Provides an effective moisture barrier for the underlying pavement.
  • A Cape Seal prevents further oxidation of the asphalt surface.

What is Reclamite and how does it work?

Mother nature ages pavement by drying the asphalt surface causing the pavement to become dry and brittle, resulting in the cracking of the asphalt, allowing moisture in and furthering deterioration.  Reclamite (trade name) seals out moisture and restores the ashatlene/maltene balance of the pavement.
A good analogy is when you lie out in the sun, you put lotion on to rejuvenate and moisturize your skin.  This is what Reclamite does for the pavement.

When does my street get swept?
