Summary: This project is a beautification and safety enhancement project for the Houston Roundabout which currently does not have any landscaping within the center.  The scope of work for the Houston Roundabout Landscaping project includes, grading and earthwork of the site, irrigation improvements, drought tolerant planting improvements, and installation of concrete curb and a rip-rap inlaid city staff maintenance path.

What are the purposes of this project?

 The purpose behind this project is to enhance the aesthetics of the area by creating a beautified focal point and enhance traffic safety by breaking headlight glare through the roundabout of oncoming vehicles and indirectly lowering vehicle speeds by reducing excess sight distance.

What is the scope of this project?

 The project features a rip-rap lined maintenance path for City maintenance staff to access existing storm drain and sewer utilities, concrete retaining curbs lining the maintenance path, strategically placed rip-rap around the perimeter of the roundabout, and strategically placed boulders to mitigate oncoming traffic, installation of irrigation, and drought tolerant landscaping.
